RIVERWOODS, Ill.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–For the sixth consecutive year, Discover Financial Services earned a
perfect 100 score from the Human Rights Campaign’s Annual Corporate
Equality Index (CEI) and is recognized as a Best Place to Work for LGBTQ
Equality.

Developed to encourage employers to advance inclusive workplace
practices for the LGBTQ community, the CEI is a national benchmarking
tool on corporate policies and is used each year to rank businesses on
their commitment to promoting fairness in the workplace.

“We’re proud to have a workplace culture that celebrates both inclusion
and innovation,” said Roger Hochschild, CEO and president of Discover.
“We believe bringing together a variety of viewpoints and backgrounds is
the best way to meet the needs of our customers, and we’re committed to
creating an environment where all employees can feel a sense of
belonging.”

Since 2013, Discover’s employee resource groups have been bringing
together members of diverse backgrounds to foster an inclusive
environment and promote company values, personal development and
business results.

PRIDE, the employee resource group supporting Discover’s LGBTQ
community, has led a number of successful initiatives aimed at giving
LGBTQ cardmembers a similar sense of inclusion. In 2015, the group was
behind the marketing effort to offer cardmembers a rainbow-themed card
design, known as the Discover it Pride Card. Additionally, the group
spearheaded Discover’s “We Accept” campaign which encouraged merchants
in areas with large LGBTQ communities to denote their acceptance of
Discover cards with a rainbow-themed sticker.

Of the total 1,028 companies analyzed by the index, Discover earned a
perfect 100 score alongside 570 other companies.
