Advisor Jeff Swett teaches financial literacy to students for third
consecutive year

BOSTON–(BUSINESS WIRE)–The
Swett Wealth Management Group
of UBS spent the day visiting with
students of Marblehead High School who are currently enrolled in the
EverFI— Financial Literacy– Understanding Money learning platform. This
web-based program uses the latest in technology – simulations, avatars,
gaming and more – to bring complex concepts to life for today’s digital
generation. Through this platform, students learn about dozens of topics
in personal finance, helping them prepare to successfully manage their
future finances. The Swett Group has partnered with EverFI, Inc. to
bring this program to Marblehead High School students at no cost to the
school.

The Financial education courses cover everything from introductory
topics like saving and budgeting to advanced topics like insurance,
taxes, and investing.

“We hope to make a long-term difference in the lives of the Marblehead
students by educating them about the basic principles of saving and
investing. This year we focused our discussion on three topics- the
importance of starting to invest at a young age, the time value of
money, and practicing self-discipline with regards to spending,” said
Jeff Swett, CFP®.

The EverFI — Financial Literacy platform is a 9-module, 6-hour program
that can be smoothly integrated into the high school curriculum. The
platform covers hundreds of topics including credit scores, budgeting,
insurance, credit cards, student loans, mortgages, taxes, stocks,
savings, 401k plans and other critical concepts. The platform tracks
individual student progress and knowledge gain and provides aggregate
data on student knowledge gains after completing the program.
